Stone Soup
A hungry traveler came to a village. 'I will make stone soup!' he said, and dropped a smooth stone in his pot.
'It is good,' he said, 'but a carrot would make it better.' A child ran to fetch one.
One by one, the villagers each brought a little something, potatoes, beans and tasty herbs.
Soon the pot bubbled with a rich, warm soup that smelled wonderful to everyone.
The whole village sat and ate together. They had made a feast by sharing.
When everyone shares a little, there is plenty for all.
